Michaud Joins U.S. and Colombian Labor Leaders to Speak Out Against Colombian FTA (5/14/08) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud, Chairman of the House Trade Working Group, participated in a press conference on Capitol Hill to highlight opposition to the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement. MICHAUD APPLAUDS DECISION TO EXPAND DISASTER ASSISTANCE TO MORE MAINE COUNTIES (5/14/08) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud issued the following statement on the announcement that more Maine counties will be eligible for federal disaster assistance.  Michaud previously sent a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency supporting Governor Baldacci’s request to include Aroostook, Knox, Lincoln, Piscataquis, Somerset and Waldo Counties as covered areas under the disaster declaration.

Michaud Statement on Expected House Action on Legislation to Suspend Filling of SPR to Lower Gas Prices (5/12/08) WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud issued the following statement in reaction to the announcement that tomorrow the House of Representatives will take up H.R. 6022, the Strategic Petroleum Reserve Fill Suspension and Consumer Protection Act.  H.R. 6022 would direct the President to temporarily suspend the filling of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) through the end of the year. The bill is expected to pass the House tomorrow.
